With this guided tour you will be able to visit Mdina – Malta’s old capital, The Crafts Village & Mosta Church (ticket included)

Tour Description

Mosta

Your first visit will be Mosta, where you will see the parish church in the centre of the city, built in the 18th century. Mosta Rotunda has the third-largest unsupported dome in the world and displays a replica of the World War II bombshell that famously crashed through the dome but did not detonate upon impact, thus sparing the lives of some 300 people.

The Crafts Village on Malta

You will then visit the town of Ta’Qali, located nearby was once a British WWII outpost, but has been converted to a village for local handicrafts. Here you will be able to watch local artisans at work blowing glass art pieces, intricately assembling original silver jewellery, and carving the local limestone. This is the perfect place to pick up treasures that will remind you of your Malta visit.

Mdina

Finally, you will visit Mdina, Malta’s ancient capital. It rests in a very majestic way, on top of a hilltop right at the centre of the island.  Once Mdina was the capital of Malta until the modern city of Valletta was built in 1565, has had many names including Melita (Roman occupation), Medina (Arabic occupation), Citta’ Nobile (Knights of St. John), and Citta’ Vecchia. Today is also referred to as the Silent City, since it inspires tranquillity at any time of the day or night. Some scenes of the famous Game of Thrones series were shot in Mdina. The only way to experience and enjoy this city is on foot, to explore the quaint alleys, narrow streets, ancient buildings, and magnificent far-reaching views from the high bastion walls.
